Our Focus
As followers of Christ, we know that God uses all things, the good and the bad, to bless those who love Him. (Rom. 8:28) The onset of COVID-19 is no exception.
Throughout this pandemic we have seen amazing acts of heroism in our ranks. We’ve seen ministers who continued to serve their communities at great personal risk. Even so, approximately 28.5% of our churches have not seen between 60-70% of their pre-COVID congregations return to church services since they have re-opened. Additionally, approximately 43% of our churches report a decline of giving by their adherents from pre-COVID levels.
“The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!” (Neh. 4:19-20)
In response, the Northeast Section has committed to engage a new and exciting ministry strategy in our Section where we can come alongside one another to help in our moments of need.
To this end, we will be celebrating and featuring our ministers and their ministries by helping them to rebuild the Kingdom of God in their communities. As ONE TRIBE, we will be partnering with our ministers in practical ways to help them reach the lost for Christ.
“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had… [so] that there were no needy persons among them…” (Acts 4:32, 34a)
What We’ve Achieved
We’re currently combing through our databases to make sure that our data is accurate.
We are forming a Pastoral Leadership team to work alongside the Sectional committee in order to make sure that we have balanced and powerful representation of our various influential ethnic groups within our leadership.
We are soliciting private and corporate sponsors with a heart for their communities to come alongside us as we partner with our churches to impact and bless the people they serve.
We are establishing a prayer line twice a week where our ministers can gather to pray together at least twice a week online. One in the morning before work and a lunchtime session for our bi-vocational pastors.
Our female leaders are reaching out to our pastors wives in order to strengthen communication and to create a safe environment where they can confidentially share with and strengthen one another.
